Tom Brady said he had many New England Patriots teammates to thank for becoming the third NFL quarterback to throw 500 regular-season touchdown passes.
The 41-year-old joined Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. as the only men to have reached the milestone with three touchdowns in the Patriots' 38-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night.
"Things like that, milestones and so on, there are so many people who contribute", Brady "
" I think of all the people who have really worked hard. A field marshal does not throw them at himself. He needs people to catch and block, and defense to make plays, and coaches to train. .
"These are all great team prizes, pretty cool."
Pats head coach Bill Belichick, whose relationship with Brady has been the source of much debate in recent years, added: "It's tremendous, it's a lot of touchdown passes for many different types as well. [There is] no quarterback would prefer Tom Brady. "
Brady's pass was a 39-yard throw to wide receiver Josh Gordon, who became the 71st different player to catch a quarterback touchdown pass. "Catching any pass from Tom is amazing, not to mention something that catches the story," said Gordon, a recent acquisition of the Cleveland Browns.
"I told him:" Congratulations "and I know there are many more of him to come, so I'm waiting for that and the next point in the story to make it, I hope to be part of it. "
No player has caught more Brady touchdowns than tight end Rob Gronkowski.
"It's just surreal what he's doing at his age, how he feels, the work ethic he has and how he brings all the practices and all the games," Gronkowski added.
"It just does not stop, it's an honor to be in the field with him."
