Chonburi (Thailand), October 24 (PTI) India defeated Pakistan 18-0 with striker Renu scoring five goals in the opening match of the AFC Women's Under-19 Championship Qualifiers here on Wednesday.
Renu replaced the second half with five goals (52nd, 54th, 75th, 89th and 90th minute) after India led 9-0 at halftime in a completely unilateral match against the hapless team of Pakistan.
Manisha opened the scoring in the second minute before adding another in the 25th minute. After that, Devneta (9 and 25) and Daya Devi (27) added their names on the roster.
Meanwhile, Pakistani goalkeeper Eman Fayyaz scored a goal in the 30th minute. Papki Devi and captain Jabamani Tudu also scored a goal each in the extra time of the first half.
Manisha (47) and Daya Devi (56) scored two more after the restart before Renu produced a five-star performance.  Roja Devi (59th) and Soumyta Guguloth (77th) were the other scorers from India.
"It was a great result for us, this kind of victory gives our girls a big boost, and I hope we can go ahead and do better in the next game," India coach Alex Ambrose said after the game.
Pakistan coach Mohammad Siddique Sheikh said it was a learning curve for his team.
"We were banned by FIFA for three and a half years, so we did not play any football at the time, India has already started an impressive development of its women's game, we are starting on that front, it will take time, but we have to treat this as a learning experience, "he said
