Ismail, Chetty blow for Proteas women Windies tour

Cape Town – Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed on Sunday that Trisha Chetty and Shabnim Ismail will not be part of the female Proteas squad on tour for the Antilles as previously announced.

Chetty suffered a disc protrusion in the lower back and has been ruled out of all three ODI games and five T20 out games.

Ismail withdrew due to family responsibility after his father became seriously ill.

Nineteen years old Faye Tunnicliffe will replace Chetty, while the selectors have chosen not to replace Ismail.

The Ranger / Batter of the Western Province joins other graduates of the National Academy Tumi Sekhukhune, Robyn Searle and Saarah Smith in the list of new faces added to the national team.

The team left for the West Indies on Sunday from OR Tambo International.
