Jagan Kumar leads 1-2 finish for TVS Racing

Chennai, September 1 (PTI) defending champion Jagan Kumar
he achieved his first victory of the season in five races while
leading a 1-2 finish for TVS Racing with K and Ahamed in the
premier Super Sport Indian class 165cc MRF MMSC FMSCI
National Championship of Motorcycling in the vicinity
Sriperumbudur on Saturday.

While the TVS Racing team celebrated, its archrival Idemitsu
Honda Ten10 Racing had to settle for a third place
through Mathana Kumar as pole-sitter Sarath Kumar retired
barely 50 meters after the start with a shifter shifted and
championship leader Rajiv Sethu crashed on the back lap in
the first round

However, there was some joy for the Honda camp as
Mithun Kumar scored his first of the current season in the
Pro-Stock 165cc class with RACR Naresh Babu and Sivanesan of
TVS Racing follows him by the finish line.

Formerly, pole-sitter Prabhu Arunagiri (Team Alisha)
Abdullah) fought to win close to Gusto Racing
Amarnath Menon and Satyanarayana Raju in the Pro-Stock
Class of 301-400 cc with less than a second separating the trio
while Chennais Shruthi Nagarajan (Apex Racing Academy)
recorded his first triumph in the Girls (Stock 165cc)
category.

Jagan had to work hard for victory while he was stretched
up to the limit by his younger teammate Ahamed who put in the
fastest lap of the race, but finally avoided the risk of
championship points to settle for second place ahead of
Mathana Kumar

The victory led Jagans to 87 points, followed by
Ahamed (76) and Rajiv Sethu (70) before the second morning
race.

For Shruthi Nagarajan, 23, it was memorable
day while tracing his first victory at the National
Championship.

Starting third in the grid, she came to the front
on the last lap after alleviating the past leader Alisha Abdullah (Team
Abdullah) for an exciting victory.

Alisha placed second ahead of Ryhana Bee (Sparks
Racing).

Posle-sitter and championship leader Ann Jennifer
he retired after an accident in the second round but retained his top
position in the ranking with 50 points, although only two
in front of Shruthi.

Championship leader Anish Shetty (Idemitsu Honda Ten10
Carreras), despite not scoring any points after starting
the race from the pit-lane due to an ECU problem, continued
Lead with 90 points, 33 ahead of Kevin Kannan (Rockers Racing)
who also made a blank space.

Alisha Abdullah) (11 minutes, 37.278 seconds); 2. Amarnath Menon
(Gusto Racing India) (11: 37,392); 3. Satyanarayana Raju (Taste
Racing India) (11: 39.378).
