Ranasinghe retained in Atapattu-led Sri Lanka women squad

Sri Lanka has named a largely unchanged side to the one he lost at home to India last month. They have made only two changes to the 15-member squad for the T20 Women's World Championship in November in the Caribbean.

Oshadi Ranasinghe and Inoshi Fernando, who were out of the starting squad to face India, only to be included in the middle of the series, have been preserved. Ranasinghe picked up four windows in the last two games of that series and scored an energetic 22 in the final T20I, while Fernando, who was out of the spinner, picked up three windows in the same game.

Imalka Mendis, who was named in the team to face India but could not play a game, has broken through, as has batter Anushka Sanjeewani. The team will be led by Chamari Atapattu, whose century in the ODI final against India gave Sri Lanka its first victory over its neighbors in more than five years.

Sri Lanka begins its campaign with preparation games against New Zealand and Ireland. on November 5 and 8, respectively, before facing England on November 11 in their first match of the tournament.
