Soumya Sarkar, pacers crush Zimbabweans

Zimbabwe left BKSP with more questions than answers after BCB XI crushed them with eight windows in the practice match. Only Captain Hamilton Masakadza was in contact with a stable century, while the rest of the batting order collapsed.

The BCB XI fast players ran through the visiting lineup, knocking them down by 178 in 45.2. Elton Chigumbura made 47 and shared a 124-race run with Masakadza for the sixth wicket after they slipped to 47 for five in the 16th.

While Ebadat Hossain took five wickets for 19 races, Mohammad Saifuddin, recalled in the ODI side after nine months, chose three for 32.

In response, the local team bet for undefeated captain Soumya Sarkar 102 to run to victory in 39 shots. Soumya connected 13 legs and six in his shot with 114 balls.

Zimbabwe faced Bangladesh in the first ODI on October 21.
