Sri Lanka won the draw and chose to play the first course in the second ODI in Dambulla, after the raffle was held under a blue sky, in full sun.

With only 15 possible plays on Wednesday, none of the teams opted to change their XI. England will face two front row spinners in Adil Rashid and Liam Dawson, in addition to the total defeat Moeen Ali. There is no room for the Curran brothers.

Sri Lanka has Akila Dananjaya and Lakshan Sandakan as their frontline bowlers, with Nuwan Pradeep, Lasith Malinga and Thisara Perera expected to offer most of the bowling game.

There is the possibility of rain later in the day.
