Joc Pederson will return to the top of the Dodgers batting order in Game 3 as manager Dave Roberts restores a bit of left-handed pop to what had been a one-sided lineup.

Roberts said during a day off Thursday that he hoped Pederson could get to the base and provide RBI opportunities to the best hitters in Los Angeles. Brian Dozier led the first two games against left-handers Chris Sale and David Price, and was followed by eight other right-handed hitters both nights. With right-hander Rick Porcello pitching for Boston on Friday, Roberts is expected to return left-handers Cody Bellinger and Max Muncy into the lineup as well. . He hit 24 of his 25 regular-season homers against right-handers and scored a base percentage of .338.

Rich Hill will be the starter for the Dodgers in Game 4 on Saturday.

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts made the announcement during a press conference on Thursday when the World Series moves to Dodger Stadium.

Hill will start with one of his many previous teams. He had two seasons with Boston, first of 2010-12 and then in 2015.

This will be the third start of Hill's career. He opened two games last year against the Astros, allowing two earned runs in 8 2/3 innings without making a decision. He walked four and struck out 12.

This will be Hill's fourth appearance and the third opening in this year's postseason. He is 0-0 with a 2.61 ERA.
