Victoria progress to semi-finals after washout

Victoria has moved to the semifinals of the JLT Cup after the persistent rain in Sydney eliminated the qualifying final against New South Wales in Drummoyne Oval.

Victoria finished higher than New South Wales in the table by a net difference of 0.02 and thus progress to face Western Australia in Sunday's semifinal at the Oval Junction in Melbourne.

Experienced Victorian Cameron White battles a career to be fit for the semifinal after suffering a low-grade inguinal injury that would have kept him out of the Blues crash if the rain procedures had not ruined.

The wash also delayed the return of Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood from a back injury. Hazlewood played a match in New South Wales Premier cricket for his San Jorge-level club a fortnight ago, where he threw eight shots in a game over 50. He stayed out of the JLT Cup clash against Queensland on Monday. the goal of playing in the qualifying final against Victoria.

New South Wales does not play again until the four-day Sheffield Shield competition begins on October 16.
